Congratulations to Gladstone local, Jessy Edwards, for being selected as a regional finalist in the 2022 Queensland Training Awards’ ‘Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year’ category for Central Queensland.
Jessy studied a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade at Queensland Alumina Limited, working closely with QAL’s Whiteside Pump Crew as a Fitter and Turner.
“It’s a huge highlight on how QAL’s apprentice training program readies apprentices before they venture into the field, and a credit to the tradies that support their development,” she said.
While Jessy has since moved on to another operator, Jessy was nominated for this award as a QAL employee and QAL are proud to have played a foundation role in Jessy’s career.
