Access to site

Anyone required to work on a QAL site must first complete an online induction.

How to complete your induction

It is compulsory for your induction to be completed prior to any work being performed on the site as per Procedure P703.018 – Training & Induction. There are two types of inductions:

  • Contractor
  • Maritime
Prior to registration

Be ready to supply:

  • A current contract number or Purchase Order that is on the Agreements Register.
  • A contact phone number, email address and your date of birth.
  • Role description.
  • Where available, QAL Badge number.

Contractor Induction

  • Visit the site access system and complete your registration. Once registration is complete, you will require authorisation by a QAL Contract supervisor and induction coordinator.

    If your registration is declined, you will be contacted by your QAL contractor supervisor.

    If you have previously registered (ie You are re-inducting for site), please use your existing login details to access.

  • #2 Login

    Once your site access has been approved, you will receive login details.

    Reset Password (for those who have previously completed QAL’s online induction and don’t know the username and password).

  • #3 Provide site access documents

    You will now need to upload the following:

    • Passport-style photograph, including your head and shoulders, taken against a plain background.
    • Medical Pass (all pages in a single document)
    • If applicable, a restrictions letter signed by all parties, including your QAL Site Representative.

    This will be reviewed and approved by our Plant Protection team. Please submit documents during business hours to avoid delay.

  • #4 Complete Online and Red Lock Inductions

    Once your site access documents have been approved you will be able to access the online learning content and assessments. Please complete these as soon as possible to avoid expiry.

  • #5 Request Site Induction Booking

    On completion of the Online and Red Lock Inductions you will need to contact the QAL L&D Team ([email protected]) to request a Site Induction.

    Bookings for the site induction must be made no later than midday the Thursday before the preferred site induction date.

    A site walkaround is conducted after the site induction on Mondays from 11:30am.

    • To complete the walkaround, participants require full PPE, including long sleeve high-vis shirt (full button length), long trousers (worn over the top of boots), site approved safety boots, helmet, face shield, clear monogoggles, gloves, hearing protection, a water bottle and Diphoterine (DAP). The Training Team will not provide PPE.
    • Walkaround participants should present no later than 11:15am to the Bob Druitt Training Centre. The walkaround will commence promptly at 11:30am.
    • The site walkaround is compulsory for participants who are new to site or have not been to site in the last three years. Site access will not be allowed if this is not completed.

  • What if I make a mistake during Registration?

Contact the Learning & Development Team at [email protected] to have the mistake changed in the database. Do not re-register.

  • What if I don’t have a Contract Number – can I still register?

No, a current Contract Number is required.  If no number is provided, registration will not be successful.

  • What if the participant doesn’t complete the induction within 2 weeks?

The participant will receive an email advising that registration has expired and will need to contact [email protected] to request a password reset.

  • I’ve attempted a password reset but have received no email. What do I need to do?

Please check to see if the email address that you entered for the password reset request is the same email address that was used the register the account initially. An email will not be sent out if this is incorrect.

  • I’ve tried to upload a photo or Medical Pass but it didn’t work. What do I need to do?

Check that the document size is below 4MB.

  • Who do I contact if the login details I received after registering on MobiliseMe don’t work?

  • Why can’t I access my profile on MobiliseMe after I’ve uploaded my documents?

While your uploaded documents are being reviewed you will not be able to access your profile. Once our Plant Protection Team have approved you will be able to access.

  • How can I get an update on my document approvals?

The Plant Protection Team review uploaded documents during the evening. If you are still unable to access your account, after document upload, after 24 hours, please reach out to Plant Protection at [email protected]

  • Why were my uploaded documents rejected by Plant Protection?

If your photo was rejected, it will be because it did not meet the required standard (refer to MobiliseMe) for creation of a site access badge.

Please also ensure that both the front and back of your Medical Pass has been uploaded (in a single file). A work limitations letter will also need to be uploaded if there are restrictions listed on the Medical Pass. This will need to be completed and fully signed before being uploaded.

  • Does the participant have to complete the QAL Online Site Induction all in one sitting?

No, the system bookmarks where they are up to.  They can log off and log on many times, but the online induction must be completed within 2 weeks of Registration.

  • What if the participant cannot print out the certificate?

The L&D Team and Plant Protection can view participant completion status via the MobiliseMe database.

  • What is the validity of the online induction qualification?

The online induction is valid for two years. To maintain site access, ensure the qualification is refreshed before the expiry date.

  • Is an induction expiry reminder issued to participants?

Yes. An Induction Expiry Reminder email is issued to the registered email account eight weeks before the expiry date.

Accessing our site

Parking

While QAL does not have designated car parks at our site, please refer to this map for available parking areas. We encourage you to familiarise yourself with the parking locations and use the designated areas accordingly.

 

Food Van

Food purchases can be made at a food van, located at the carpark outside Plant Protection during designated hours for breakfast and lunch (subject to change) Monday to Friday. There is no onsite canteen.

Maritime Inductions

Visit the site access system and complete your registration. Once registration is complete, it will be redirected for authorisation by a QAL induction coordinator.

For all Maritime Users, the contract number is 8888888888 (10 x 8’s).

There is a choice of two selections for Login:

  • Create Contractor Account (for those with no QAL Badge Number, Username or Password).
  • Reset Password (for those who have previously completed QAL’s online induction and don’t know their Username and Password).

Once your registration is approved, you will receive an email link to complete the online Maritime induction. You should complete the Maritime induction module as soon as possible after receipt of the induction link to avoid expiry.

After completing the Maritime induction, you will be required to supply the following:

  • A passport quality photo (not a scan or photocopy) if you do not have an existing QAL profile.
  • A copy of your MSIC.
  • A copy of the Maritime Security Awareness Training (MSAT) certificate received upon completion of the Maritime Security Awareness Training.

Once you have completed these steps, Email Us with your completed documentation.

Health & Fitness Compliance

All contractor employees who require medical clearance for site access will need to demonstrate that they satisfy the P747.003 – Health and Fitness Standard for Contract by obtaining and presenting a compliance card from an approved Pre-Employment Medical (PEM) Provider.

NOTE: All bookings must be made via the email addresses or phone numbers listed below. At the time of booking, Contractors’ must specify to the provider that the medical is to be QAL compliant.

If you are booking a medical outside of Gladstone, please ensure you contact the relevant provider at their Gladstone office.  Failure to do so may result in the incorrect medical being issued.

Please note that it is a requirement for all contractors to provide a valid urine drug screen (completed within the last three months) that is compliant with AS/NZS 4308.
